With the goal of bringing the outside, in, which is not at all unusual in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, I recently worked on the update of a kitchen and two baths. The homeowners” rural backyard abuts conservation land. The clients didn”t want to change the footprint of any of the rooms; the scale was just fine in their home. They wanted new bath and kitchen finishes, fixtures and cabinetry to create a clean and updated look that would coordinate well with the style of the rest of their home, its furnishings and with their secluded surroundings.
Thanks especially to Ryan-Regan Ladd, contractor, tiler-extraordinaire, painter and finish carpenter and Scott Anderson, kitchen design manager with Cowls Building Supply. Thanks to fellow IFDA New England board member Bob Grossman at Wolfer”s Lighting in Waltham, MA for supplying the decorative light fixtures, to Katya Savenkova from Degrees of Comfort in Northampton, MA for the plumbing fixtures and details, and to Arrow Tile for the great tile!
To see my design work on the baths, go to “Same Footprint, Brand-New Baths…”
Lighting, along with most of the cabinetry (save an antique cabinet saved from a previous home), appliances, sink, faucet, flooring and countertops were updated.
