About KDZ
Artistic & Functional Design
What I love about design projects is the opportunity to turn a desired vision into a stunning reality. I dedicate time with each client to develop an understanding of their aspirations for the space. These connections help to foster the collaborative process with the entire team, not only with clients but also with contractors and vendors. The intersecting of ideas, expertise, resources, and creativity, ultimately shapes spaces that resonate with both functionality and aesthetic beauty.

My Design Background
I started KDZ Designs in 2009 as an avenue to combine my creativity and project management skills. My previous career in corporate IT cultivated my eye for detail and collaborating with multiple contributors to meet established deadlines. I began to explore utilizing that experience as a creative outlet and landed on purusing a Master of Arts in Interior Design, which I completed in 2006 with a degree from New England School of Art and Design.
With my clients, I dive into the functional piece of the project as we evaluate the design to best meet their needs. I consider the variables of their lifestyle and how the various pieces of our plan will come together to create value. My realistic approach is all about incorporating the preferences of my clients while making the process easier and functional in the space.
My Memberships
I have been an active member of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA), New England Chapter, since 2009. IFDA is a dynamic organization that connects designers and design-related businesses through education, networking, and events hosted by each chapter to bring together members and prospective members. Through the New England chapter I have developed relationships with Boston-based vendors, including those at the Boston Design Center, harnessing, these connections to bring enhanced value to my clients.
Over the years, I have contributed to various boards, including serving as the chapter president from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, I’ve held diverse roles on the national IFDA Educational Foundation Board, including Director of Scholarships and Grants from 2018 to 2019, Vice-Chair in 2020, and Chair in 2021 and 2023, soon to hold the esteemed position of Past Chair.
I am a proud member of both the BNI Powerhouse and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce. Through these affiliations, I actively work to build valuable relationships with fellow interior designers, vendors, and professionals from various fields. My contribution to this broader network who values collaboration, innovation, and shared success creates enriched experiences for my clients by offering new ideas and solutions that stem from a diverse pool of expertise.

Beyond Design
Racing Greyhounds
For over three decades, my husband Bill and I have welcomed ten retired racing greyhounds into our lives, each bringing their unique charm and companionship. Our latest addition, Clementine, became part of our family in August 2021 through the Greyhound Angels in New Jersey. Throughout our journey, we’ve actively supported a variety of greyhound adoption groups, deeply committed to finding loving homes for these remarkable dogs. We also support rescue organizations in Spain, where Spanish greyhounds (galgos) and other hunting breeds find rehabilitation and healing from mistreatment. Adopting a greyhound is a greyt idea!
Pan-Mass Challenge
My involvement with the Pan Mass Challenge spans over 15 years. This annual bike-a-thon traverses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to raise crucial funds for cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. My husband Bill, a rider for 25 years, and I have made it a family affair, with his late mother Carol, a two-time cancer survivor, joining us as a volunteer. Despite a brief hiatus during the pandemic, I’ve continued my volunteer commitment at the starting line, eager to contribute to a cause that touches so many lives. The PMC’s mission of giving hope and fighting cancer resonates deeply with me, motivating me to actively participate in this remarkable event.
